Hot Stone Therapy

Hot stone therapy is a complete body, mind and soul treatment. Physically the circulation and metabolism is stimulated, you will reach a state of deep relaxation within minutes and spiritually, the client is balanced and healing takes place.

The effects of stone therapy are felt both physically and psychologically. Physically the stones produce advanced relaxation, providing relief to muscular tension. The effects vary depending on the temperature of the stones.

Hot stones – the heat produced on the skin’s surface penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin, creating a state of deep mental relaxation by:

  • increasing the body’s temperature
  • increasing blood and lymphatic circulation
  • soothing sensory nerve endings
  • relaxing tight muscles

Cold Stones – provide an invigorating, toning and stimulating effect by:

  • decreasing the body’s temperature and blood circulation
  • producing an analgesic effect on the superficial nerve endings, numbing the area
  • producing a tightening effect on the skin. Cold stones alternated with warm stones can help to balance the circulation locally and promote healing.
